Day -1 turned Day 1 because I realized I DID have pictures!

In the spirit of the "30 Days of [Blank]" floating around the blogosphere, I have decided to participate with 30 days of photos. Photos of my life, mostly my kids.

The idea of 30 days of something is that if you do something for 30 days, it becomes a habit. While attempting to do "First Year" books on MyPublisher for my kids, I realized just how few photos I have. Fewer than what I'd like anyway. For someone who calls herself an aspiring photographer, I feel very shameful that I have not documented my kids first years to the extent that I would like. I don't have many photos from when I was a baby, and no keepsakes or videos aside from a blanket and a doll that has lost her clothes over the years. I want that for my kids. I want to be better about collecting the memories or my kids' childhoods.

I saw this video in which a father has taken a picture of his son every day for an entire year, and made a time lapse calendar video out of it. I am so jealous and wish that I had done that!!!

Anyways, as luck would have it, I did pull out my camera yesterday and snap a few of my kids. Nothing exciting, as I didn't have this idea in my head yet. But tomorrow will be better, I promise!

One of the rare occasions I manage to get a picture of Iz actually LOOKING at the camera AND it's relatively focused. I'll take what I can get.

If you are not already familiar with my kids, you need to know how important this thumb is. This thumb, her love of sleep and the blanket that is usually not too far away. They have easily made the last year of my life much easier than it otherwise could have been. And today I am thankful for them.

Today was lame, I know. But in my defense I didn't know that I would be doing this today. Tomorrow will be better. I promise.

Anywho the rules of this experiment are as follows:
-I will take as many photos of the day as I can and post them the following day as Day X
-They are nothing special and will not be edited beyond iPhoto. I.e. no Photoshop
-Do NOT steal my photos. Unless you're family. I think from now on I will post them to my Zenfolio account. That way family can access the password protected gallery and download the original high res version and print them if they want. Just leave a comment here and I will send you the password.

I'm hoping that by the end of this it will be a habit to take pictures every day and I will continue to do it. Someone please think of an appropriate punishment for me if I miss a day.
At the worst, I'll have way more pictures than I have now, and my family will be able to see the kids grow and have pictures for their own galleries.

*Update: to make up for my lame post today, I have added a few past photos to the gallery! Leave a comment and I will send you the password*

Love, Jess
